1. A Fat cat
A fat cat is a negative description of a rich and powerful person.
雖然fat cat是一個帶有諷刺意義的表達，專門用來說一些有錢有勢的人，特指那些濫用權勢的人。
但是如果我的朋友說我是個fat cat，那可不就是說我很有錢嗎？我反正肯定得開心死。哈哈，變有錢人了。
英語例句：
① I'm no fat cat. I can't even pay my normal bills!
我可不是”大款”。我甚至連正常的賬單都付不起！（自嘲）
② These fat cats of commerce make huge profits out of the public.
這些“商業巨頭”從公眾那裡牟取暴利。（含貶義）
2. Play cat and mouse
“Play cat and mouse”可不是讓你“玩貓和老鼠”哦，那是玩什麼？
聽過電影《貓鼠遊戲》嗎？當我們說Play cat and mouse表示：
To engage in a suspenseful relationship in which one is being pursued and one is the pursuer。
處於一種懸而不決的關係中，其中一個是被追求者，另一個是追求者。也就是我追你，你追我。追到了就？嘿嘿嘿。
當然它可指感情關係，也可指警匪關係等等。表示下套子，戲耍某人。
英語例句：
① Coy girls often like to play cat and mouse with Boys.
故作忸怩的的女孩常常喜歡和男孩子玩貓捉老鼠的遊戲。（就是吊著你的胃口，就不答應你）
3. Curiosity killed the cat
最後一句也是我們的諺語，好奇害死貓。英文中就叫做Curiosity killed the cat，相當直白。
英語例句：
① Stop prying into my private life! Remember, curiosity killed the cat.
別再窺探我的私生活了！記住，好奇害死貓。
* pry into sth. 窺探，打聽什麼東西。
② I know curiosity killed the cat, but I can't stop the investigation until I know who she really likes!
