我們去超市購買食品時，一定會看看商品保存期限，那麼“保質期”用英語如何表達？
e.g. The can of milk has pasted its expiration date.
譯：這罐牛奶已經過了保質期。
expiration n. 英[ˌekspəˈreɪʃn] 美[ˌɛkspəˈreʃən]
expiration有截止，滿期的意思，expiration date 即保質期。注意這裡的past表示超過了的意思。
e.g. Mature flour has a longer shelf life.
譯：熟麵粉保存期要更長。（source：柯林斯詞典）
這裡shelf life 是指（包裝食品的） 貨架期，保存限期。
另外，我們還可以用quality guarantee period表達品質保證期。
e.g. The can of milk went bad although it was still within quality guarantee period.
譯：雖然這罐牛奶還在保質期，但它已經變酸了。
