1. He's a stone.
他顽固得像块石头一样，means he is stubborn. 再看一个例子，
You are such a stone and never tell anything of your family.
此外，关于stone还可以表达“铁石心肠” heart of stone
2. disappear from the face of the earth
完全彻底地（消灭），人间蒸发 means disappear/vanish completely
from the face of the earth 字面译作“从地球上，从大地上”，通常跟动词disappear/vanish搭配，如
Isolation and hunger were driving the horses to disappear from the face of the earth.
孤独与饥饿使野马们将要从地球上消失。
3. build an enterprise
“开公司，办企业” 又一表达，means open a company, start up a business.
company，firm和 enterprise 有什么区别？
company 通常指“所有带有商业性质，注册了的公司”，也是法律条款里所说的“公司”
registered companies 注册公司
company director 公司董事
We set up a company to provide English training courses.
我们成立了一个提供英语培训的公司。
firm 所指的“公司”可以是小公司也可以是大公司，即“由两个以上的合伙人组成的商业机构”，通常包含“事务所”的概念，是一个比较正式的词语。
law firm 律师事务所
accountancy firm 会计师事务所
同时 firm 公司还有一个特点是
以提供服务型业务为主，比如：“consultancy services 咨询业务”，或者“legal services 法律业务”等。enterprise 通常指“刚起步的中小型企业”, 和 company 相比的最大区别是，enterprise 不一定是一个正式注册的公司,有时是为帮助社区发展而成立的小型企业，如
community enterprises 社区企业
We have been running a community enterprise to raise funds for the local library.
我们运营着一个社区企业，为地方图书馆筹集资金。
Many enterprises in the area are relying on support from local government.
许多当地的企业都依靠地方政府的支持。
enterprise 还特指 “一项艰巨或有风险的项目”
China and the UK are investing in several joint energy enterprises.
中英两国正在投资几个大型的能源合作项目。
4. our interests are aligned.
我们的利益是一致的，言下之意就是说“我们是同盟，联盟”。反义词 是“non-aligned” 不结盟
aligned动词原形为align, 指“使结盟；使一致”
align (sb) wih sb 与...结盟，合作
Our company should align ourselves with theirs.
我们的公司必须与他们的公司合作。
5.my pants are on backwards
自己的内裤穿反了。
pants在American English是男、女外裤。
pants在British English是男用内裤和女用外裤。
backwards指向后；倒；往回
be on backwards (穿，戴) 反了
You've put your hat on backwards.
你把帽子的前后戴反了。
Your skirt is on backwards.
你的裙子前后穿反了。
