今天介紹的《Henny Penny》你簡單一看會覺得內容很多，但是其實並不難。因為很多都是重複句，然後按照故事情節慢慢增加有意思的內容的。而且裡面的Penny/Henny, Cocky/Locky, Ducky/Lucky等單詞是增加韻律感的，讓小朋友在閱讀階段可以更加容易上口。
One day Henny penny was eating corn in the farmyard when...
有一天，小雞潘妮正在院子裡吃玉米 ...
whack!...an acorn fell on her head.
咣噹一聲！一個橡子掉在她頭上。
"Oh ,my," said Henny Penny.
“哦，天啊，”小雞潘妮嚇壞了。
"The sky is falling! The sky is falling. I must go and tell the King."
“天要塌下來了！天要塌下來了！。我必須要去告訴國王！”
So she went along and she went along and she went along until she met Cocky Locky.
所以她就去了，她走啊走走啊走直到遇見了公雞洛奇。
"Hello, Henny Penny," said Cocky Locky.
“你好，潘妮，”洛克公雞說。
"where are you going?"
“你要去哪裡呀？”
"The sky is falling and I must go and tell the King," said Henny Penny.
“天要塌下來了我必須得去告訴國王，”小雞潘妮說。
"Oh! May I go with you?" asked Cocky Locky.
“哦！我可以和你一起去嗎？”公雞洛奇問。
"Certainly!" said HennyPenny.
“太好了！”小雞潘妮說。
So they went along and they went along and they went along until they met Ducky Lucky.
所以它們就去了，它們走啊走、走啊走直到遇見了小鴨拉奇。
"Hello, Henny Penny and Cocky Locky,"said Ducky Lucky.
“你們好，小雞潘妮、公雞洛奇，”小鴨拉奇說。
"Where are you going?"
“你們要去哪裡呀?”
"The sky is falling and we must go and tell the King," said Henny Penny and Cocky Locky.
"天要塌下來了我們要去告訴國王，"小雞潘妮、公雞洛奇回答道。
"Oh, May I go with you?" asked Ducky Lucky.
“哦，我可以跟你們一起去嗎？”小鴨拉奇說。
"Certainly!" said Henny Penny and Cocky Locky.
“太好了！”小雞潘妮和公雞洛奇說。
So they went along and they went along and they went along until they met Goosey Loosey.
所以它們就去了，它們走啊走、走啊走直到遇見了小鵝露西。
"Hello, Henny Penny and Cocky Locky and Ducky Lucky," said Goosey Loosey.
“你們好，小雞潘妮、公雞洛奇，小鴨拉奇，”小鵝露西說。
"The sky is falling and we must go and tell the King," said Henny Penny and Cocky Locky，Ducky Lucky.
"天要塌下來了我們要去告訴國王，"小雞潘妮、公雞洛奇、小鴨拉奇回答道。
"Oh, May I go with you?" asked Ducky Lucky.
“哦，我可以跟你們一起去嗎？”小鵝露西說。
"Certainly!" said Henny Penny and Cocky Locky，Ducky Lucky.
“太好了！”小雞潘妮和公雞洛奇，小鴨拉奇說。
So they went along and they went along and they went along until they met Turkey Lurkey.
所以它們就去了，它們走啊走、走啊走直到遇見了火雞樂奇。
"Hello, Henny Penny and Cocky Locky and Ducky Lucky and Goosey Loosey,"said Turkey Lurkey.
“你們好，小雞潘妮、公雞洛奇，小鴨拉奇，小鵝露西,”火雞樂奇說。
"The sky is falling and we must go and tell the King," said Henny Penny ,Cocky Locky ，Ducky Lucky and Goosey Loosey.
"天要塌下來了我們要去告訴國王，"小雞潘妮、公雞洛奇、小鴨拉奇、小鵝露西回答道。
"Oh, May I go with you?" asked Turkey Lurkey.
“哦，我可以跟你們一起去嗎？”火雞樂奇說。
"Certainly!" said Henny Penny，Cocky Locky，Ducky Lucky and Goosey Loosey.
“太好了！”小雞潘妮，公雞洛奇，小鴨拉奇和小鵝露西說。
So they went along and they went along and they went along until they met Foxy Loxy.
所以它們就去了，它們走啊走、走啊走、走啊走直到遇到了狐狸樂希。
"Greeting, Henny Penny, Cocky Locky, Ducky Lucky, Goosey Loosey and Turkey Lurkey,"said Foxy Loxy.
“你們好，小雞潘妮、公雞洛奇，小鴨拉奇，小鵝露西，火雞樂奇”狐狸樂希說。
"The sky is falling and we must go and tell the King," said Henny Penny and Cocky Locky and Ducky Lucky and Goosey Loosey and Turkey Lurkey.
"天要塌下來了我們要去告訴國王，"小雞潘妮、公雞洛奇、小鴨拉奇、小鵝露西和火雞樂奇回答道。
"You'll never get there in time," said Foxy Loxy.
“你們不可能及時到達那裡，”狡猾的樂希說。
"Come with me and I'll show you the shortcut."
”跟我來，我告訴你們有條近路。“
"Certainly!" said Henny Penny, Cocky Locky, Ducky Lucky, Goosey Loosey and Turkey Lurkey.
“太好了！”小雞潘妮，公雞洛奇，小鴨拉奇，小鵝露西和火雞樂奇說。
And they followed Foxy Loxy right into his cave.
他們跟著狐狸樂希到了他的洞穴。
Henny Penny,Cocky Locky,Ducky Lucky,Goosey Loosey and Turkey Lurkey were never seen again...
沒有人再見過小雞潘妮，公雞洛奇，小鴨拉奇，小鵝露西和火雞樂奇...
...and no one ever told the King the sky was falling.
…也沒有人告訴國王天要塌下來了。
