2018 marks the 15th anniversaries of the establishment of the China-ASEAN strategic partnership and CAEXPO, and coincides with the China-ASEAN Year of Innovation. The 15th CAEXPO to take place in Nanning, China on September 12th-15th in this context will feature"Jointly Building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, Forging the China-ASEAN Community of Innovation" as the theme. A series of investment promotional events will hosted on sidelines, as efforts to promote the cooperation among China, ASEAN and other countries along the Belt and Road in economy, trade and investment.

Favorable Investment Policies & Prominent Market Potential
The Chinese government has earmarked US$10 billion and US$40 billion respectively for setting up the China-ASEAN Investment Cooperation Fund, and the Silk Road Fund as well as US$10 billion as second round of special loans for ASEAN infrastructure construction, providing financial supports for strengthening land and information connectivity on both sides and deepening the bilateral cooperation in infrastructure construction, engineering machinery, electric power, building materials, telecommunications and industrial parks, etc. What’s more, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) co-founded by China and other several countries will significantly boost investment cooperation among China, ASEAN and other countries concerned.

Highlight 1: China-ASEAN Infrastructure Cooperation Forum
Sponsored by the China International Contractors Association, this Forum will discuss new opportunities and challenges brought to the reciprocal cooperation of both sides in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative and the ASEAN economic integration. Representatives from relevant government departments, industrial organizations, enterprises and financial institutions of China and ASEAN will be invited to share their insights and experiences, promote the investment climate of their specific countries and provide professional services for the Chinese enterprises to further explore the infrastructure markets of the ASEAN countries,
Highlight 2: Meetings/Talks with Chinese Economic and Commercial Counselors in the ASEAN Countries
Co-sponsored by the Department of Asian Affairs of Ministry of Commerce of China and the CAEXPO Secretariat, these meetings between the Chinese economic and commercial counselors in the ASEAN countries and major Chinese investors including SOEs and private companies will help the latter have solutions to the difficulties that they have encountered in the ASEAN countries, those concerning finance, laws and potential risks in particular.
Highlight 3: Promotion Conference on ASEAN Industrial Parks
The Conference will continue to highlight international production capacity cooperation and strengthen investment cooperation among the countries along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. Representatives of ASEAN industrial parks will give presentations on their investment climate and meet and talk with Chinese companies. Besides, images of ASEAN industrial parks will be displayed, to more effectively promote the investment and economic cooperation between China and ASEAN.
Highlight 4: Forum on China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation
As this year marks the China-ASEAN Year of Innovation, this Forum will feature Innovation Cooperation for Win-win Development as the theme to arrange a series of sideline programs, including opening ceremony, networking programs for Chinese and ASEAN high-tech and innovation industrial parks, traditional Chinese medicine and health technologies and precision medicine technologies and exhibition on advanced technologies.
Highlight 5: Investment & Fundraising Seminar
This Seminar has been served as an effective and efficient platform for the matching of projects and capital between China and ASEAN countries. In line with the expectations of project holders and investors, pre-matching will be made before the Seminar, to ensure that the participants can have face-to-face talks with their ideal partners from China and ASEAN countries on site in the shortest time. Enterprises engaging in and projects on infrastructure, outbound investing, investment promotion, logistics, finance, tourism, production and processing from 10 Chinese provinces/municipalities along the Southern Transport Corridor will be organized to be matched with related industry agencies, industrial parks, enterprises and projects owners from the ASEAN countries so as to help the domestic companies explore the ASEAN market and invest here.
Highlight 6: Financial Support for Chinese Enterprises to Invest in ASEAN
A symposium on investing in ASEAN for financial institutions, SOEs and private sectors, an orientation on financial policies and a workshop of corporate financing will be arranged. Representatives of renowned Chinese and international financial institutions will be invited to provide financial polices consulting for enterprises based in the provinces/municipalities along the Southern Transport Corridor, as efforts to promote the exchanges and cooperation among those provinces/municipalities in infrastructure construction, development of ports, airports and industrial parks, operation of sea-railway transport, customs clearance, quarantine & inspection, business inviting and outward investment, etc.
Highlight 7: Seminar on China-ASEAN Tourism Cooperation & Business Matching
Tourism cooperation remains one of the priority cooperation areas between China and ASEAN countries. Statistics show that China has become the largest source of foreign tourists of ASEAN. In 2016, more than 38 million mutual visits were made by people of both sides. To practically deepen the bilateral cooperation in this area, relevant tourism authorities of China and the ASEAN countries will continue to co-host the Seminar on China-ASEAN Tourism Cooperation & Business Matching at the 15th CAEXPO. Representatives of relevant government departments, travel agencies, airlines, delegations of the cities of charm of the ASEAN countries will be invited to meet and talk with their counterparts from China based on the needs and demands they provide to the organize before the event.
