II. 暖寶寶
“暖寶寶”這個詞，有人指“暖手筒”，有人指貼在身上的“暖貼”，我們分別看一下它們的英文：
Hand muff 暖手筒
1. Let me charge your hand muff, so it's ready to warm up your hands later.
我幫你把暖寶寶充好電，等會兒你就可以用它來暖手了。
其實muff本身就可以表示“暖手筒”，但是在一些地區的俚語中，muff是不雅詞彙，所以，在muff前面加上hand，更為安全。
Heating patch 暖貼
2. I am on my period today so I have to stick a heating patch on my tummy. You don't have to stick one on.
今天我來月經了，所以需要在肚子上貼個暖貼。你不用貼。
III. Long johns 秋褲
關於外國人穿不穿秋褲的問題，小雅採訪了不少英美國家的朋友。結論是，這和他們居住地區的溫度有關。寒冷地區的朋友是會穿秋褲的；溫暖地區的朋友，即使平時不需要，去山上或者其他冷的地方的時候也會穿秋褲。
3. Before you go out, make sure you tuck your long john top into your pants, and tuck the legs of your long johns into your socks.
出門之前，記得把秋衣掖到褲子裡，把秋褲的褲腿掖到襪子裡。
IV. 哈氣
“哈氣”在中文裡既可以作名詞，也可以作動詞。而將“哈氣”翻譯成英文，更要分成5種情況：

你在手上哈哈氣，能暖和點兒。
5. It must be below 0 degrees now, because I can see your breath.
現在肯定是零度以下了，因為我能看見你的哈氣。
“0度”翻譯成英文，degree用複數形式，而“1度”翻譯成英文，degree用單數形式：1 degree。
6. Your breath fogged up the air.
你一呼吸都出哈氣了。
7. This is how I clean my glasses. I breathe on them and then use a microfiber cloth to wipe them.
我是這麼擦眼鏡的。我先在上面哈一口氣，然後用一塊眼鏡布，把它擦一擦。
8. Do you want to draw something in the condensation on the window?
你想在窗戶上的哈氣上畫點兒什麼麼？
V. 結霜、結冰、結冰錐
9. There is frost on the window this morning.

11. Look, there are some icicles hanging on the edge of the roof.

Icicle讀作['aisikl]。
VI. 漏風、鑽風
12. There is a draft coming through the gaps between the glass and the window frame. I'll buy some rubber seals on Taobao later.
玻璃和窗框之間有縫隙，有點漏風。我回頭去淘寶上買點兒封條。
如果你用的是填縫劑，英文是sealant ['siːlənt]。
13. The jacket only has three buttons, so sometimes the cold wind goes right through it. I'll sew on two snaps.
這件外套只有三個釦子，會鑽風的。我給它釘兩個按扣。
14. Let mommy wrap you up tighter, so that the wind won't get through.
媽媽把你裹得嚴點兒，以免漏風。
VII. Winter food 冬季食品
15. There is someone selling sugar-coated fruit-on-a-stick. There are hawthorn berries, oranges, Chinese yams and hawthorn berries with bean paste. Which kind would you like?
那邊有人在賣糖葫蘆呢。有山楂的、桔子的、山藥的，還有山楂豆沙的。你要哪種？
對於“糖葫蘆”這樣的中國特色食品，如果沒有特別權威的翻譯，可以通過描述這種食品的原料、形態、或者工藝的方式翻譯。
16. Let mommy buy a roasted sweet potato for you. Not only is it yummy, but it can also warm your hands.
媽媽給你買個烤紅薯吧。不僅好吃，還可以用來焐手。
17. My friend is going to treat us to dinner. Considering the cold, I suggested hot pot.
我的朋友要請咱們吃晚飯。天氣這麼冷，我建議了“吃火鍋”。
VIII. Keeping your hands warm 讓手暖和
18. If your hands are too cold, you can stick them into your pockets.
你要是覺得手冷，可以把手插兜兒裡。
19. When you wear mittens, separate your thumb from your other fingers.
你戴連指手套的時候，大拇指和其他指頭要分開。
20. Are your hands frozen? Quickly rub your hands together because friction generates heat.
你的手凍僵了吧？兩隻手快速搓一搓，摩擦生熱。
IX. Walking outside 在外面走
21. In the cold winter, we wear thicker clothes so we are not as flexible. You have to be careful not to fall when you walk outside.
冬天冷，穿得厚了，身體不太靈活。在外面走路的時候，小心別摔倒。
22. Let's run a bit. This will speed up blood circulation and warm us up.
咱們跑跑吧。這樣血液循環會加快，會暖和起來。
