Cynthia NixonNixon announced her debut in the world of politics with a two-minute video on her social media platforms, where she declared: 'I love New York and today I'm announcing my candidacy for governor.'

Cynthia Ellen Nixon (born April 9, 1966) is an American actress, activist. She is known for her portrayal of Miranda Hobbes in the HBO series Sex and the City , for which she won the 2004 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

From 1988 to 2003, Nixon was in a relationship with schoolteacher Danny Mozes.They have two children together.
