Because it's a much more effective system when people drive sensibly and follow the rules.
I actually wish we did it in the UK. It'd work well there. Lots of European countries do it, plus places like the US.

Sure, but roundabouts + allowing right turns is even more efficient. Not every junction in the UK has a roundabout.

"Right on Red" is common in a lot of places. However, they also have the "stop first and yield to others" step that China replaces with the "slam down the accelerator and blare your horn" step.

It is legal to turn right at a red light, as is in the US. However, when turning right at a red light, you have lowest priority for right of way (right of way is not a concept here, despite needing a 90% score on the driving exam)

This isn't a problem once you figure it out--but what's with the LEFT turn across oncoming traffic when the light turns green? That would be an absolute death move in the States.
