徐志摩是現代派風流才子、浪漫詩人，尤其這首《再別康橋》可謂是“新月詩派”的巔峰之作，曾經迷倒一大票民國小迷妹。
那是1928年11月6號，徐志摩正要出發離開英國回到上海，8年前，他曾在劍橋大學遊學兩年，對劍橋有著深厚的感情，他曾經說自己的詩人情懷正是康橋賦予的。
據說當時回上海前，徐志摩遭到了林徽因的求愛拒絕，而在英國的旅途，他的英國朋友也都不在家，除了靜靜的康橋還在那裡心中感慨萬千的徐志摩寫下了這首絕唱—《再別康橋》，表達他的真摯、濃郁、雋永的情感。

in the splendour of starlight.
尋夢？撐一支長篙，
向青草更青處漫溯，

Quietness is my farewell music;
Even summer insects keep silence for me

但我不能放歌，
悄悄是別離的笙簫；
