你是用什么语言读懂英语I'll take a rain check？
我们很多时候学英语，不是“学”来“用”，而是“学”来“学”。比如，用中文“学”英语。
学习和掌握英语，当你努力去用中文“知道”英语什么意思的时候，别人却训练自己努力把英语作为“学习语言”、“阅读语言”、“理解语言”和“使用语言”，“用”英语“明白”英语什么意思。
把英语“翻译”成英语的同时，就是把学过的英语用起来，做到了英语“学以致用”，解决了英语“学了没用”问题，你就提升了自己“用”英语的语言能力，何乐而不为？
1) “读”英语：
Idiom：take a rain check (on sth)
英语也有多种用词表达同一个意思
1. used to tell someone that you cannot accept an invitation now, but would like to do so at a later time
2. An expression indicating that one is refusing an offer or invitation but with the hope or promise that it can be postponed or accepted at a later date or time.
3. To refuse an offer or invitation but with the hope or promise that it can be postponed to a later date or time.
4. If you tell someone you will take a rain check, you are saying that you will not accept their offer now but that you might accept it at a different time.
5. Take a rain check is said when politely refusing an offer, with the implication that you may take it up at a later date.
注意到没有，都是同一个意思，用词上一会说refuse to do something，一会说cannot accept something，用词一会说with the hope or promise to aceept，一会说might take it up，用词丰富了，意思还一样。
这就是用词能力的训练。
2) 把英语“翻译”成英语：Put English into Englush口语训练
1. Okay.Got it. To take a rain check is an English idiom.
既然是idiom，就不能“望文生义”了，英汉皆然。
2. When we say I'll take a rain check,we mean we cannot accept/we refuse an offer/we ww will postpone/put off an offer,but we might take it up/accept it later
那么，为什么英语要用rain check这个东东表示refuse now accept later呢？
1) A rain check is a ticket given to spectators at US sporting events enabling them to claim a refund of their entrance money or gain admission on another occasion if the event is cancelled because of rain.
The rain-check system is mentioned as operating in US sports grounds in the late 19th century; the figurative use of the word dates from the early 20th century.
2) 说英语：
1. Okay.A rain check has something to do with sports.
2. A rain check is a ticket.
3. We can get a refund/to get our money back if a sports game is postpobe because of rain.
4. If we din't want a refund, we can go to another game with this check.
相信你这么长年累月“用”英语下来，结果如何不言自喻。
只是很多人不懂这么学英语，也做不到这点：还是“用”中文学舒服啊，结果只能是英语“学而不用”，“学”“用”脱节。
