英語的用法微妙，有時多一個或少一個the，意思就完全不一樣。 “out of question”是沒問題，那麼“ out of the question”是有問題還是沒有問題呢？

Out of （the）question
Out of question就是beyond question，是在“問題之外”，代表“沒問題”。這種用法比較舊，現在很少聽到美國人這樣說。
多了一個the，則是表示“某個特定問題”無法談下去、不可能的，這用法很常見。
例如：
In fact, freedom of navigation in the South China
Sea is out of question.
事實上，南海的航行自由不存在任何問題。
Your proposal is out of the question.
你的建議根本不做考慮。
Do you have （the）time?
加上the表示限定了time為“現在的時間”；如果沒有the，time就變成了沒有限定的時間，就會是“你有空嗎”的意思。例如：
Do you have time? How about having a cup of coffee with me?
你有空嗎？跟我喝杯咖啡怎麼樣？
Do you have the time? My cell phone is dead.
你知道現在幾點嗎？我的手機沒電了。
I'm with（the） child.
I'm with the child表示“我和這個小孩一起”，I'm with child則是“我懷孕了”，意思差別很大。例如：
I can't carry a heavy bag, because I'm with child.
我不能提重的行李，因為我懷孕了。
I'm with the child.
我和這個孩子在一起。

什麼時候要加“the”：
1. 特定名詞
對話中的兩人都知道彼此在說的特定人事物時，在該名詞前面要加“the”。例如：
Can you bring me the blue bag in my room on your way?
你可以順路幫我拿那個在我房間裡的藍袋子嗎？
2. 世界上唯一的
太陽(the sun)、月亮(the moon)、天空(the sky)、地球(the earth)…等等都要加上“the”。例如：
The sky is clear today.
今天晴空萬里。
3. 序數(ordinal number)
第幾名、第幾個，形容名次、順序這些名詞時也要記得加上“the”。例如：
Susan won the first place in the dance competition.
蘇珊在跳舞比賽中拿到第一名。
4. 形容詞、副詞的最高級(superlative)
最常用法是the adj./adv. + est/st/iest… 或是the most + adj.。例如：
Jeremy is the hottest guy I've ever met.
Jeremy是我遇過最帥的男生。
5. 擁有同樣性質的人
在形容詞、分詞、名字前面加上“the”。
the rich 富人
the poor 窮人
the Jacksons 屬於Jackson 家族的成員
the French 法國人
6. 特殊時間點
早上/ 下午/ 傍晚/ 過去/ 未來/ …年代/ 世紀要加上“the”。
in the morning/afternoon/evening 早上/ 下午/ 傍晚
in the past/future 過去/ 未來
in the 1980s / in the 20st century 1980年代/ 20世紀
7. 樂器/ 動植物名/ 河川/ 海洋/ 發明物
這些特殊名詞都要加“the”，並不一定是特定指某個東西。
the piano 鋼琴
the rose 玫瑰花
the Pacific Ocean 太平洋
