信任在不管是在現在還是以前，都是及其重要的，現在的為人處世信任是最最基礎也是最最重要的前提，不管這個信任從哪裡來，也不管這個信任有多少，而這信任的多少在英語中又是怎樣描述的呢？
1.trust
說道信任，一般是會想到這個詞，trust代表的是強調相信、信任可靠，突出信任、相信的重要性。
例如：
You cannot expect your friends to trust you if you don't keep faith with them.
My experience inclines me to the view that he is not to be trusted.
2.belief
這是一個普通用詞，所闡述的信任也是單純的從主觀意義上的相信，不著重於這種相信是否有根據，就像大家以前常說的‘這人看起來好老實’，不自覺的就會這個人打上‘老實，可以相信’的標籤，所以在口語中的我認為也有‘I hold the belief that...’的說法。
例如：
He called at her house in the belief that she would lend him the money.
Civilians had broken into the building, apparently in the belief that it contained food.
3.credit
這是語氣最弱的一個表達信任的詞，指的是相信一些令人比較難以相信的東西，比如‘所外星人就在地球上’，也著重於以聲譽為信任的前提。
例如：
It was hard to credit some of the stories we heard about her.
Bratbakk had more ability than the media gave him credit for.
4.faith
這個表達出來的相信在語氣上是比較強的，強調的是一個完全相信，是充滿肯定的感情與依靠的相信，像對老師或醫生的信任就帶有一定的依賴性和肯定性，也有少數情況所表達的是僅憑感覺所產生的一個相信。
例如：
After the trial, his family said they had lost all faith in the judicial system.
Her friend's kindness has restored her faith in human nature.
5.confidence
這個信任不是給自己的，而是給予的，指的是對某人某事有信心，斷定不會因此讓人因此失望而給予的信任。
例如：
This has contributed to the lack of confidence in the FDA.
He crawled into the confidence of the boss.
6.conviction
個人覺得這個詞是對我們現在生活中一方面的比較中肯的詮釋，其所表的深信側重的是根據自己長期交往或事件出來的深信，是對某人某事有了認識和了解之後產生的信心與相信，主要表明其堅定性。
例如：
It is our firm conviction that a step forward has been taken.
What grew chiefly upon me, rather, was the conviction that only those who are trustworthy know how to trust.
