福奇，就是近期多次出現在白宮記者會上的那位美國頂級醫學專家，因在疫苗開放時間、保持社交距離等諸多問題上多次公開糾正特朗普的錯誤，成為當下美國炙手可熱的“網紅”。
“今日俄羅斯”網站指出，在許多美國右翼看來，福奇比特朗普更傾向於延長“封城”與“保持社交距離”等措施。
得州這場抗議活動正是由美國右翼網站InfoWars主持人歐文·施羅耶組織的，該網站的創建者亞歷克斯·瓊斯曾因傳播陰謀論而被起訴。他們當天也參與了遊行。
施羅耶將福奇稱為“法西斯分子”，並帶領現場人群高喊“炒掉福奇”。
In Texas, several hundred people rallied at the state capitol on Saturday to call for an end to the state's coronavirus stay-at-home orders. Many protesters sought an immediate lifting of restrictions and chanted "Fire Fauci!"- referencing Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country’s top expert on infectious diseases.
RT reported that Fauci has been seen by many on the right as being more in favor of extending lockdown and social distancing measures than President Donald Trump in battling the spread of COVID-19.
The rally was organized by Owen Shroyer, a host of InfoWars, a media company owned by conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who joined protesters on the capitol steps. Jones is being sued in Austin over using his show to promote falsehoods that the 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre in Connecticut was a hoax.

Protesters arrived with signs, American flags and wrote anti-lockdown messages on car windows, according to NBC. In Annapolis, the capitol of Maryland, streets were full of cars, with many of them honking their horns.

He urged supporters to "LIBERATE" three states led by Democratic governors Friday, boosting protests against stay-at-home restrictions aimed at stopping the coronavirus, the Guardian reported.
Washington Governor Jay Inslee, a Democrat, said Trump's tweets about "liberating" states put millions of Americans at risk of contracting COVID-19.
"The president is fomenting domestic rebellion and spreading lies even while his own administration says the virus is real and is deadly," Inslee said.
