Huang Qin inspects virus prevention work in WND
黃欽赴高新區檢查涉外疫情防控工作
3月14日上午，無錫市委書記黃欽來到高新區，檢查機場口岸、入境來錫人員轉運點涉外疫情防控工作。
Wuxi Party Secretary Huang Qin visited Wuxi High-tech District to inspect COVID-19 prevention and control efforts at the airport, as well as transfer points for inbound arrivals in Wuxi.
連日來，蘇南碩放國際機場口岸協同海關、邊檢、航空公司、公安等聯防聯控單位，多措並舉嚴防境外疫情輸入。黃欽查看了海關、邊檢的值守、信息排查、人員轉運等流程情況，並指出，各相關部門和單位既要嚴格做好出境返錫人員和外籍來錫人員的相關防控措施，也要積極主動做好外籍人士政策解釋和服務保障工作。
Sunan Shuofang International Airport has recently been working with the local customs department, immigration inspection agency, public security ministry and airlines to carry out stringent measures, as part of efforts to prevent inbound coronavirus cases. Huang checked the duty schedules, health checks, and procedures for transferring people at the customs and immigration inspection agency. He noted that every relevant department and unit should observe the prevention and control measures for everyone returning to Wuxi from other parts of China and overseas. He also requested that they should actively do a good job in explaining the policies and providing services to foreigners.
此外，根據部署要求和防控實際，無錫市此前成立了由各板塊和相關部門單位組成的外地入境來錫人員轉運工作專班。在上海口岸入境來錫人員無錫轉運點，黃欽與各工作專班進行了交流，認真查看了轉運點工作流程和消殺服務情況。他要求各板塊和相關部門完善流程環節，全力做好入境來錫人員的接駁轉運、應急保障等工作，同時進一步強化一線工作人員的防護保障。
In addition, to meet the requirements of the prevention policy, the city organized staff from different departments to form teams dedicated to transferring visitors to Wuxi from overseas via Shanghai. Huang spoke with the teams at the Wuxi transfer point for inbound arrivals from Shanghai airports, checking the working procedures and disinfection situation at the point. He requested every relevant department to improve its working procedures to properly transfer people who had arrived in the city and offer them services in time, and stressed the importance of protecting those working on the front line.
M8項目成功投產
M8 project starts operations
3月16日，由海辰半導體（無錫）有限公司和SK海力士系統集成電路（無錫）有限公司共同投資建設的8英寸非存儲晶圓項目（M8項目）成功投片。
The M8 project, namely the 8-inch non-storage wafer project, started operations on March 16. The project was jointly invested and developed by Haichen Semiconductor (Wuxi) Co Ltd and Hynix Semiconductor Wuxi Ltd.
該項目總投資14億美元，主要從事CIS（攝像電路）、DDI（驅動電路）、PMIC（電源管理集成電路）及Nand存儲器等代工製造和銷售業務，也正在開發邏輯和混合信號芯片等新的代工業務。項目投產後將月產11.5萬枚8英寸晶圓片，遠高於國內外其他8英寸企業月產5萬枚的平均水平。
With a total investment of $1.4 billion, the project involves the manufacturing and sales of CIS (CMOS Image Sensor), DDI (Display Driver Integrated Circuit), PMIC (Power Management IC) and Nand Flash. It also covers the development of the sub-contracted manufacturing business for algorithm and mixed-signal chips. The project is expected to produce 115,000 8-inch wafers per month, much more than the average 50,000 produced by similar firms.
M8項目的成功投產將極大改善中國8英寸半導體行業產能不足的局面，同時，也有利於鞏固無錫中國微電子產業南方基地的地位，更將幫助無錫高新區成為世界一流的綜合半導體產業樞紐。
It is hoped that the M8 project will improve the current limited capacity of 8-inch wafer production in China. It will also foster Wuxi’s position as a base in southern China for the nation’s micro-electronics industry. Furthermore, it will develop WND into a first-level comprehensive hub for the global semiconductor industry.

Sunlant Bioengineering, a firm based in WND, immediately responded to the need for tackling the virus and donated 2 SLXP-002 Sunlant automatic clia readers and COVID-19 test kits for 2,000 people through the Red Cross Society of China to the Hospital of Legnano in Milan, Italy.
