今天带大家学习一个高频口语表达：Fair enough。
大家知道fair这个单词有公平、公正的意思，比如你可能会听到有人这样抱怨：That's not fair，这不公平。那么fair enough难道是足够公平的意思吗？
为了正确理解这个短语到底是什么意思，我们一起先来看一个对话：
Person 1: Why did you go to that university? It’s not prestigious.
Person 2: Because they gave me a full ride.
Person 1: Fair enough.
在这个对话里，第一人问第二个人你为什么最后选择去那个大学啊，那个大学并没有什么名气啊？第二个人回答说因为他们给我提供全额奖学金。所以问话的人回答说fair enough，意思是好吧，我懂了或者我理解了。
1. So fair enough here means what you say when you initially disagreed with another's opinion or behavior, but after hearing their explanation can now see their point of view.
所以fair enough在这的意思是你最开始不同意或者不理解对方的意见或者行为，可是听了对方的解释之后呢豁然开朗了。
我们知道美国人和英国人互相不喜欢，于是：
American: Personally, I don't like the British, because the British don't like us.
British: Fair enough.
2. (That is) reasonable, understandable, or agreeable.
某件事你认为是合理的，说的通的，有道理的，可以理解的。和我们常说的ok，all right，of course有点相似，但表达的意思不完全一样。
The managers want to cut costs, which is fair enough, but they're sacrificing their employees to do it.
经理们想要削减开支，这是完全可以理解的，但是他们想用牺牲员工的利益来实现（这是我们不能接受的）。
Here fair enough is used for showing that you think that something is reasonable.You say fair enough to acknowledge what someone has just said and to indicate that you understand it.当你说fair enough的时候，表示你承认对方说的话是有道理的，你完全理解。比如说：
我有个朋友她一心想着自己创业，不愿意给别人打工。每次别人问起的时候，我会说：“She said she didn’t want to work for anyone else.”
听话人这个时候就可以说：“OK, fair enough.”其实就是我们说的“好吧”。
3. used for accepting a suggestion 用来表示接受别人的建议
I think $5000 is a reasonable price.
我认为5000美金的价格比较合理。
Fair enough. Can I pay you at the end of the week?
行，周末结付可以吗？
fair enough在这表示你接受对方的提议或者建议。
小孩子都喜欢玩儿游戏，但是也知道自己要先写完作业才能玩，所以跟爸爸说：
Dad, can I play computer games after I finished the homework?
他爸爸可能会说：All right，fair enough，意思是好吧，这个要求是可以接受的。
4. fair enough有时还可以暗示某种争议或分歧，used for saying that something seems reasonable but you do not agree with it completely.
两个人产生矛盾互相都僵持着，谁也不肯让步，有一方可能会说：
If you want to waste your time, fair enough, but don’t waste mine.
意思是你想要浪费你的时间，我没意见，但别浪费我的时间。暗含争执的意味。
有时候fair enough表达的含义还比较空洞，大致相当于汉语里的“哦，嗯，好吧”。
比如说你很想跟你的男神/女神hang out，邀请了ta很多次，可是ta每次都会以各种各样的借口拒绝你，这一次你邀请ta的时候，ta说：
“I don’t feel like going out tonight - I’ve got a bit of a headache.”
我有些头疼，今晚不想出门。
“Fair enough.”
那行吧。
fair enough在这呢，语气很无奈，跟“哦”差不多的意思。当然这只是为了方便大家理解我举的一个例子，如果是真的，我真要劝劝这个人放弃吧。
