4、protect against

protect是“保护，防卫；警戒”，就是保护什么以免怎么样。protect against就是“使免受”，protect from也是此意。

5、select society

选择性社交？不是，其本意是指“上流社会”，小伙伴是不是不清楚啊，这就知道了。
