如何正確地使用英語連詞,擴充句子的長度與內容?

連接詞的作用可不是擴充句子,而是讓文章連貫通順。連貫通順是高考作文最高分檔的判分要求。

比如領導講話,上來就說:我只講三點。 First …Second…Last but not the least… ,一條一條清晰明白,大家都聽懂了。這就是對連接詞的運用。

想運用好連接詞,你得知道連接詞的前後連的什麼。以下我把連接詞按功能做了分類,並附上例句或者例文

表順序

英語學人


說一下愚見。通常所用連詞有and,as ... as,還有其他的就不說了,不過擴充句子長度,使用單詞比較多的。有的時候“in my opinion”比“as far as i am concerned”更吸引老師眼球,具體什麼情況就聽老師講。高中老師給我們說後面的好,到了大學反而前者更稀少甚至用上老師感到很稀奇。

擴充單詞方法很簡單,FIRST OF ALL,儘量不要用縮寫或是連字符之類,比如“I am”千萬不要寫成“i'm”。前者2個單詞,後者1個單詞。可以比較“of the clock”與“o'clock”很明顯。

AND THE NEXT IS SENTENCE。多使用從句,把本來一個兩個單詞就可以解釋的東西擴成一個句子。可以應用because, because of ... that ..., the reason why ...(eg.:i think that) is ...,這樣的狀詞、關係詞在後面跟著。比如寫“我喜歡英語”:

  1. i like english.
  2. my habit is english.(換長一點的表達)
  3. one of my habit is english.(加修飾之類的詞)
  4. one of my favorite class is english.
  5. one of my favorite class i have learned in school is english.(對class進行解釋,直接在class後面解釋class的意思,此外能用have done堅決不用do,能用完成時,不用一般時,能多寫助動詞絕不放棄寫助動詞,因為最簡單的“完成時態”與“一般時態”差別不是很大,有時候可以做到互換)
  6. one of my favorite class i have learned in school is english that i can not like more.(在english後面加句子,先寫一個that,在寫關於english的句子:i can not like english more,把english去掉放that後面。還有一點,can not可以寫作cannot,不要寫作can't,沒這種縮寫,並且儘量寫成can not不要寫cannot,因為可以多一個單詞)

最後一點,要在掌握最簡單的語法後儘量多去使用,即使無厘頭、即使搭配錯誤,只會語法不會用也沒法擴充文章單詞。當每句話都用從句時,到時候因為字數限制不得不採用abbr,或是其他減字數的方法。

再好的方法也需要內化(就是要多想多練)成為自己的知識才能應用,講得再好,聽不懂一樣沒有任何意義。所以首先要多訓練單詞/語法,在熟練掌握的基礎上多做練習,比如寫從句:

原句:

i like english.(想修飾english)

從句內容:

i like english.(拼出english)

給主句要修飾的english後面緊接著加that:

i like english that ...

給從句去所修飾的詞/短語:

i like.

把從句帶進主句去:

i like english that i like.

完成。

雖然這不能稱之為正確的句子,但可以經常做這種練習

最後不要像我想寫個簡單句都寫不出來、沒從句活不下去,上限180,寫出200還刪減不了,當時練從句別人一直誇我結果陷進去無法自拔了。

連詞是連接詞,他們可以連接單詞、短語和從句。Jason老師之前寫過一篇文章《學英語 並列連詞與複合句》。

並列連詞連接句子,起平衡的作用。2個被連接的句子就像圖片中的2個石頭是獨立的,平等的但是卻有所不同。中間位置的石頭就像連接2個句子的並列連詞。把2個或2個以上的句子連接起來就構成了複合句。

並列連詞for, nor,和yet並不常用。For 也很少用在對話當中,屬於書面用語。

Romeo would do anything for Juliet.

He loved her more than life itself.

這2個句子可以用for連接,變成

Romeo would do anything for Juliet, for he loved her more than life itself.

羅密歐可以為朱麗葉做任何事情,因為他愛她超過生活本身。


When you’re reading, you shouldn’t translate every unknown word. You shouldn’t read too slowly.

這2個句子可以用nor連接,變成

閱讀英語文章時切記不要去翻譯,否則你會降低閱讀速度。

學習英語並不容易,但是卻可以很有趣。

你應該在24小時內進行復習,否則會忘掉70%的內容。

約翰有天分又有責任心,所以他會成功的。
