重要詞彙condition用法要點
1. 在“in+a.+condition”這類結構中，表示“……情況、狀態”，形容詞前有時帶不定冠詞，有時不帶不定冠詞，大致原則是：若是籠統地說某種情況“好”或“不好”，則通常不用冠詞，如：
in good (excellent, perfect, favourable, first class, top, bad, poor, etc) condition
若具體地描述某種情況是如何地“好”或如何地“不好”，則通常用不定冠詞，如：
in a serious condition 情況嚴重
in an undecided condition 懸而未決的狀態
但有些情況下用不用不定冠詞均可。如：
The patient was in (a) critical condition. 病人的情況十分危急。
2. 有形容詞修飾的in condition相當於in good condition，其意為“（健康）狀況良好”，其反義結構是out of condition，相當於 in bad condition，其意為“健康欠佳”。
3. 示“環境”“情況”等，習慣上要用複數，表示“在…情況（環境）下”，其前可用介詞in或under。如：
He was brought up in [under] very difficult conditions. 他在極其困難的境況下長大。
4. 表示“以……為條件”時，其前通常接介詞on。如：
You may go only on certain conditions. 你只有在一定條件下才能去。
5. 習語on condition that表示條件，相當於 (only) if，其後接that從句的謂語通常用一般現在時表示將來意義，但在正式文體中可用“（should+）動詞原形”。如：
She will join us on condition that you also be there.
她和我們一起去，條件是你也將在場。
You can use the bicycle on condition that you return it tomorrow.
只要你明天歸還，自行車你可以拿去用。
On condition that you sign this receipt, I will pay the money.
你在收據上簽字，我就付款。
I will go abroad on condition that my husband goes with me.
如果我丈夫能和我一起去，我就出國。
He can use the bicycle upon condition that he returns [(should) return] it tomorrow. 自行車可以借給他，條件是明天必須歸還。
He spoke to reporters on condition that he was not identified.
在不披露身份的條件下，他接受了記者的採訪。
I will grant you pardon, on condition that you help me solve a terrible problem.
我願意饒恕你，但是你要幫助我解決一個十分棘手的問題。
I said I would tell him a confidential story on condition that he kept it secret.
我說在他保密的條件下，將告訴他一個秘密的故事。
I can only do it for you on condition that I'm paid in advance.
只有在提前得到報酬的條件下我才為你做那件事。
He'll lend you the money on condition that you return it on time.
他會把錢借給你，條件是你要按時歸還。
I will lend you the money you want on condition that you promise to repay me by next month.
既然你答應下個月把錢還我，我可以把前借給你。
I'm quite willing, on condition that there's no objection.
如果沒有人反對，我很願意。
I'll do it on condition that you pay for everything.
我可以做此事，條件是你得支付一切費用。
We can accept the offer on condition that our delivery dates are met.
如果您可以滿足我們提出的裝運期，那麼我們可以接受您的報價。
