Task 1

Sample answer:

If I am going to take the campus actives, I would like to choose plant flowers. for the first reason is that flowers brighten an indoor space, and indoor plants provide texture, structure and motion. They also can help clean the indoor air. which giving me a mental lift. also, its a great to make some new friends and have a deeper connecting with our classmates. flowers make a great vibe in school and make school feels more like a school. this activity definitely provide huge benefits for all the students and teachers in school, just a bird kill two stones. so that’s the reason I choose plant flowers.

Task2

Sample answer :

I don’t a agrees with this because a lot of times we don’t have time to take the business conference, either because we are sick or we miss the airplane. so it a great way to use the technology stuff to make it happen. like WeChat, Skype, and business video talks. they are all great way to connecting people from different places in the world. even we have VR now, that could make the long-distance meeting more vivid. More important we need to have a new opinion to look at this. we should not have some bias on the technology meeting , whether is informal or less care. I mean its all the same. we definitely should use high-tech . SO that’s why I disagree with this.

Task3

Task4

animal assmbly ,join body together to face thechallenge

Male Deer’s antlers have some functions. There are three theories.

There are three possible functions.

1、Dissipate excess body heat

2、Self-defense

3、Communicate dominance to each other

It’s plausible but has some problems.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Some lessons for young students(4~8 years old)increase their interest to learn, including video games, while others believe it will distract young students. and can be seen as a waste of time. What is your opinion and why?

範文:

During the past decades, the role of video games has undergone a tremendous change from a way of entertainment to a supplement of education. Many young children aged from five to eight spend quite a long time learning lessons that include video games, which triggers a heated debate on whether this approach is an effective way of learning or simply a distraction. From my perspective, these lessons can be seen as nothing more than a waste of time.

Firstly, it is difficult to control children’s enthusiasm in video games and thereby they are apt to get addicted to these games, most of which have nothing to do with their lessons. It is true that the intention for this kind of lessons is to engage children, especially those from 5 to 8 years old. Nevertheless, the progress of learning is inevitably more strenuous than playing games, so children are easy to be fully intrigued by the games while forgetting the theme of the class. After all, for kids, who would choose to count on the arithmetic book instead of adventuring in an exciting virtual world? The consequence is quite predictable: most children may get obsessed with the games and they would try to explore more of them, and once the new world of games is in front of them, most of them will consume a lot of energy and time in the games, their attention distracted, their learning performance jeopardized, and their curiosity in absorbing knowledge compromised. This age is the very time when habits are formed, and no responsible teacher wants addiction to games to be one of them.

In addition, the virtual world framed in video games is merely based on adults’ imagination, saving kids’ trouble of imagining and is not helpful to inspire kids’ own imagination and figurative thinking. Traditional pedagogies, like reading books or drawing pictures, are inviting children to build up their comprehension and imagination toward the abstract verbal information, while at the same time encouraging them to express what they picture in their mind by means of talking, drawing or even dancing. In contrast, when they are provided with video games – the colorful world set by adults where kids can only manipulate their gamepad under the pre-set rules, they do not need to use their own imagination any more. Instead, what they need to do is just accomplishing the missions that they do not understand. In other words, they are deprived of the chance to think and imagine. Many great inspirations of famous artists come from their unstoppable fantasy, and I hope our kids also have this ability. That can be developed by reading, drawing, dancing, playing music, or any methods involving active thinking process, which do not include video games.

Admittedly, I know that some teachers may count on these video games to raise their kids’ interest and enthusiasm in class, but there are other more effective methods to accomplish that, and the negative impacts of video games outweigh their benefits. Therefore, I will not recommend my kids to take the classes that use video games to advertise.
