馬爾代夫要求印度收回第二架直升機，兩國關係轉冷
新德里：在印度努力在東南亞擴大影響力之際，卻在馬爾代夫接二連三遭遇嚴重挫折。馬爾代夫是印度洋群島，曾是印度戰略後院的完美組成部分。現在阿卜杜拉·亞米恩政權要求印度收回部署在拉穆環礁的第二架“禮物”海軍直升機（北極星輕型直升機）。
這架直升機的交換函在上個月已過期，但馬累不但正式拒絕續簽，還要求印度在6月底前完成印度直升機的回收。
印度時報在4月5日曾首次報道稱，馬累想讓印度收回一架部署在拉穆環礁的直升機離開。當時，馬勒否認想讓印度收回另一架部署在拉穆環礁的直升機。印度政服之前向馬爾代夫贈送了2架輕型直升機，但據馬累的報道，亞米恩政服對印度海軍人員駐紮在馬爾代夫維護直升機感到不滿。
印度部署了6名飛行員和十多名地面人員來操作這些輕型直升機，並協助馬爾代夫的國防部隊。
馬爾代夫駐印度大使艾哈邁德穆罕默德在接受印度時報採訪時表示，他對這個問題無可奉告。
有消息稱，在馬爾代夫修建印度警察學院的工作也被推遲，因為馬累通過“非正式”途徑下令移民部門暫停對所有印度技術工人簽發新的工作許可證，但這些技術工人是印度資助項目不可或缺的角色。
拉穆環礁的地理位置十分重要，據說中國正在考慮在此修建港口。據報道，馬爾代夫駐中國大使穆罕默德·費薩爾今年早些時候曾表示，中國確實表示有意在馬爾代夫修建港口。
“阿杜環礁(其他印度直升機所在地)的地理位置也很重要，因為它位於赤道海峽，靠近迭戈加西亞。馬累似乎想讓這些戰略地點不再受到印度染指。”一位不願透露姓名的政服官員表示。
