While food is definitely a defining part of Italian culture, the true heart of the culture is the family unit and the sense of pride in one’s community. For Italians, food and family go hand-in-hand. Mealtime as a whole is taken very seriously. Meals often last for hours. This is the time for people to gather with friends and family to not only enjoy food, but talk and spend time together.
食物絕對是意大利文化的一個重要組成部分，但這種文化的真正核心是家庭意識和對自己所處地區的自豪感。對意大利人來說，食物和家庭是無法割捨的。他們十分重視進餐時間，常常會吃幾個小時之久。對意大利人來說，進餐時間不單單代表著享受美食，它也是和朋友、家人交談的時間。
In the evening, many Italians like to take a walk around the town, a routine known as a passegiata. People will take leisurely (休閒的) walks, greet one another and maybe catch up over a coffee.
Whether it is a good conversation, a glass of wine or just a splendid view of the countryside, Italy is a place where people take time to enjoy the small things in life.
晚上，意大利人喜歡在城裡散步，這種習慣被他們稱為是“passegiata”。人們會悠閒地散步，互相問候，或者喝杯咖啡。無論從哪個角度來說，一次愉快的交談、一杯葡萄酒，還是美麗的鄉村風光，意大利是一個人人都會花時間享受生活的國度。
