This is AP News Minute.

The coronavirus pandemic has prompted a spike in demand for food pantries as millions of people find themselves out of work, the government reported Thursday that 5.2 million more workers lost their jobs last week.

Hundreds of Bangladeshi workers who produce garment for global brands protested in Dhaka on Thursday. They were demanding unpaid wages during a nationwide lockdown that's forced most factories to suspend operations.

A coffin factory in Spain has tripled production to keep up with demand. The Eurocoffin factory which used to provide coffins for funeral homes in Europe and South America, says it is now making 150 coffins a day mainly for homes in Spain during the pandemic.

And in Washington, there is the surprising sight of a self-driving delivery robot full of grocery items on the nearly empty streets. The new technology is also helping restaurants and grocery stores stay open while limiting person to person contact.
