Wu Huixia（武辉夏） was born in Nanjing, capital city of Jiangsu province, in eastern China in 1944. He is currently an advisor to the Wulingshan Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute. As the master of Jiufangzhai, he is revered throughout China as “Number 1 Crane Painter” for his vivid and impressive depictions of cranes.
Mr. Wu is a well-known painter, art critic, art curator and social activist. He is a member of Chongqing Research Institute of Culture and History and member of China Democratic League.
He also served as the director-general of Chongqing Science Popularization and Artist Association, vice president of Chongqing Collectors Association, vice president of China Democratic League (Chongqing) Painting Academy, associate dean of Chongqing Jiulong Poetry, Painting and Calligraphy Institute, executive dean of Feng Yuxiang Poetry and Calligraphy Institute, honorary director of Chongqing Artists Association, consultant of Chongqing Comics Society, and consultant of Chen Zizhuang Research Institute.
Mr. Wu is a senior artist of China Painting and Calligraphy Institute, member of China Literati and Artists Association, researcher of Beijing Huaxia-Kyoto Painting and Calligraphy Art Research Institute, consultant of Chongqing Celebrity Business Research Association, and honorary president of Chongqing Literature Performing Artists Association.
