第三課 春天的聲音
I come, I come! you have called me long;
我來了，我來了！你們呼喚我很久了；
I come over the mountains with light and song:
我伴著光亮與歌聲翻山越嶺：
Ye may trace my step over the wakening earth,
你們在覺醒的大地上追逐著我的腳步，
By the winds which tell of the violet's birth,
風說著紫羅蘭的降生，
By the primrose stars in the shadowy grass,
幽暗草地上點綴著月見草，
By the green leaves opening as I pass.
我穿過那長滿綠葉的通道。
I have breathed on the South, and the chestnut flowers.
我面朝南方呼吸著慄花的芬芳。
By thousands, have burst from the forest bowers;
樹林中的涼亭上開滿了成千上萬的花朵；
And the ancient graves, and the fallen fanes,
古老的墳墓、墮落的神殿，
Are veiled with wreaths on Italian plains. —
在意式平原上用花圈掩蓋。—
But it is not for me, in my hour of bloom,

To speak of the ruin or of the tomb!

I have looked on the hills of the stormy North,

And the larch has hung all his tassels forth;

The fisher is out on the sunny sea,

And the rein-deer bounds over the pastures free;

I have sent through the wood-paths a gentle sigh,

And called out each voice of the deep blue sky,

From the night-bird's lay through the starry-time

In the groves of the soft Hesperian clime,

To the swan's wild note by the Iceland lakes

When the dark fir-bough into verdure breaks.
黑色的冷杉樹長出片片翠綠。
From the streams and founts I have loosed the chain; —
在河流和源泉中，我掙脫枷鎖；—
They are sweeping on to the silvery main;
它們掠過銀色的水源；
They are flashing down from the mountain-brows,
沿著山脊向下閃爍，
They are flinging spray on the forest boughs;
噴灑在森林的樹枝上；
They are bursting fresh from their sparry caves,

And the earth resounds with the joy of waves.
大地迴盪著水波的喜悅。
Come forth, O you children of gladness, come.
來吧，快樂的孩子們，快來吧。
Where the violets lie may be now your home.
紫羅蘭生長的地方可能是你們現在的家。
Ye of the rose-lip and dew-bright eye,
你們玫瑰色的嘴唇和露水般明亮的眼睛，
And the bounding footstep, to meet me fly;
伴著那跳躍的腳步，向我飛奔；
With the lyre, and the wreath, and the joyous lay,
用琴、花環，還有那歡快的詩歌，
Come forth to the sunshine, I may not stay.
向著陽光而來，我可能不久就將離去。
