⒈not…until…
直到……才……
主句中的動詞為短暫性動詞，如leave, start等。而在until的肯定句型中，主句的謂語要用延續性動詞。
He stayed in her house until the rain stopped.
他在她的房子裡一直待到雨停。
I didn’t realize how hard my parents were until I had my children.
直到我有了自己的孩子，我才意識到父母有多辛苦。
⒉not only…but also…
不僅……還……
Qingdao is famous for not only its beauty but also its weather.
青島不僅因為它的美麗而聞名，還因它的天氣而聞名。
⒊It is/was﹢被強調部分﹢that﹢其他部分
上面是﹛強調句型﹜的基本結構，該句型可以強調主語、賓語、狀語等，但不能強調謂語。
Mrs Lin attended a friend’s wedding in the church three days ago.
三天前林太太在教堂裡參加朋友的婚禮。
It was Mrs Lin that/who attended a friend’s wedding in the church three days ago. (強調主語)
It was in the church that Mrs Lin attended a friend’s wedding three days ago. (強調地點狀語)
It was three days ago that Mrs Lin attended a friend’s wedding in the church. (強調時間狀語)
⒋while引導的狀語從句
當時間、條件、讓步、方式等狀語從句的主語和主句主語一致(或者從句主語是it)，且從句含有be動詞時，可以將從從句的主語和be動詞一起省略。
⑴while引導時間狀語
While we were talking, he came in.
⑵while引導讓步狀語從句，意思是“雖然……但是……”(多放於句首)
While he comes from Sichuan province, he finds it hard to eat spicy food.
雖然他來自四川省，但他還是不習慣吃辛辣的飯菜。
⑶while引導條件狀語從句，意思是“只要”
While there is life, there is hope.
留得青山在，不怕沒柴燒。
⒌should have done過去本應做而沒有做
Shouldn’t have done 過去本不該做而做了
兩者都含有責備和後悔的語氣。
⒍I wonder if…我想知道是否……
I wonder if/whether 表示“我想知道是否……”，此句型中if/whether引導賓語從句。多用於口語中，表示有禮貌地詢問某事或請求幫助。
No wonder 不足為奇
No wonder that Mary was late, she missed the shuttle bus this morning.
怪不得瑪麗遲到了，她錯過了今天早上的班車。
