水泗的蒲苇
蒲苇高挑出水，银色毛穗
被秋风梳理着，若一道道波光粼粼
甘愿贡献墨绿的叶儿给鱼虾咬食，
凭纤细而坚韧的根茎缚紧石与泥。
鸟儿歇立其上，对耳呢喃，
它只低头不语
日出，
在盘石上洒下慵懒的光华，
水流推着浪花一路嬉笑而来，
便闻石与浪激鸣喧哗。
仗其大，它自诩可以踞此千年
常道也，
“蒲苇韧如丝，磐石无转移”呵！
——一个凄切的譬喻罢了！
威廉·巴特勒·叶芝（William Butler Yeats,1865年6月13日~1939年1月28日）爱尔兰诗人、剧作家和散文家，著名的神秘主义者，是“爱尔兰文艺复兴运动”的领袖。叶芝的诗受浪漫主义、唯美主义、神秘主义、象征主义和玄学诗的影响，演变出其独特的风格。叶芝的艺术代表着英语诗从传统到现代过渡的缩影。叶芝早年的创作具有浪漫主义的华丽风格，善于营造梦幻般的氛围。（摘自搜狗百科·叶芝）
《一个凄切的譬喻》主要仿照叶芝的神秘主义风格，用蒲苇与盘石的对比刻画及对古典的暗合，提出现实的社会问题。
