人文類夏校TASP


TASP全稱為TellurideAssociation Summer Programs for High School Juniors,即TA協會高中夏校項目,緣起於1891年美國科羅拉多州著名企業家L.L.Nunn建立的商業企業家交流平臺 -- Telluride Association(後簡稱TA),經過120多年發展至今成為青少年人文類課外學習中最具挑戰性的第三方夏校項目。


TASP Essay Questions(文書題目):

1. Reflect on the education(formal and informal) you have received:

✔What experiences have youfelt fortunate or unfortunate to have?

✔What part of your education(formal or informal) has challenged you the most?

✔If you attended TASS, pleasereflect on that experience and explain what in addition you would hope to gainfrom and contribute to TASP.

2. At TASP, you will discusstexts and ideas in a college-style seminar. You should feel comfortable thinking deeply about an issue, communicating a well-reasoned stance, and genuinely engaging with others’ positions. To that end, tell us about a time a text (a piece ofwriting, movie, song lyrics, etc.) influenced your ideas about an issue.

What did you think at first, and how did your thinking change? Refer to specific parts of the text to analyze how it affected your ideas.

3.TASP is comprised of smalleducational communities that rely greatly on the maturity of individualmembers. Tell us about a recent time you did something that upset or hurt a peer in acommunity you were involved in.

✔How did you respond to this situation?

✔Reflecton your response, and evaluate it. What would you do the same, and what might youdo differently? Why?

Short Answer Questions(短問答):

In addition, please provide,in no more than 1,500 characters (approximately 250 words) per list:

A.brief explanation of why you are interested in each seminar and an order of your preference for attending them. If there is aseminar that you would definitely not attend, explain why. (If you are selected for TASP, we will use your answer to help place you into an appropriate seminar.)

B.A list of your favoritebooks and other media (such as films, exhibits, newspapers, magazines,lectures, music, works of art, etc.).

C.A list of your mostrelevant activities, work or volunteer experiences, scholarship programs,honors, and awards. For each, include a very brief deion of its importance to you.

Optional:You may (but are not requiredto) submit up to 1,500 characters (approximately 250 words or half a page) of any other information you feel would help the committee understand your application: for example, any unusual patterns or anomalies in your academic record, such as gaps in education, or a poor semester performance.
