A Letter to All Foreign Friends in Wenzhou
On the occasion of the Chinese Spring Festival, we would like to extend sincere greetings and best wishes to you all.
Recently, there has been an outbreak of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in China, including Zhejiang Province. In response, Zhejiang Provincial Government has activated Level I Public Health Contingency Plan since 23rd January. Attaching paramount importance to the situation, CPC Wenzhou Municipal Committee and Wenzhou Municipal Government have set up a leading anti-epidemic team and made utmost efforts on epidemic prevention and control to curb the spread of the virus. For the health of your own, your loved ones, we hereby send the following message to all foreign friends in Wenzhou:
I.Follow official updates.
Follow Wechat public accounts“Wenzhou Release（溫州發佈）” and“Health Wenzhou（健康溫州）”and other official media outlets for the most recent updates. Check out the list of designated hospitals in Wenzhou, and look for prevention and treatment guides. Avoid believing and spreading false and unverified information.
II.Pay more attention to self-protection.
Please keep good personal hygiene habits by often washing your hands. No spitting. Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms. Please avoid contact with wild or farm animals. Please do not eat raw or undercooked eggs, poultry or other animal products. Please keep the room clean and maintain proper ventilation.
III.Minimize outdoor activities.
Avoid crowded places, parties and other group activities. Please do wear a mask (preferably a surgical mask) if you have to go and attend one. Please dispose used facemasks to designated garbage bins. If you have respiratory symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, or fatigue, please go to a designated hospital with a mask on. Please offer the information to the doctor whether you have travelled to or living in Wuhan 14 days prior to the symptoms emerge, or whether contacted people from Wuhan with fever and other respiratory symptoms. According to Law of the PRC on the Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, you may be requested for medical observation in isolation or treatment in hospital if you are discovered to have abnormal body temperature. Please follow the health and anti-epidemic measures.
IV.Join in our mass prevention and control efforts.
If you have been to the epidemic areas recently, or if contacted people who are from the epidemic areas, please pay close attention to your health, and stay at home for medical observation for 14 days. Please cooperate with government, community or medical staff if they inquire about your condition.
Our valued international friends, the city of Wenzhou is our shared home. In the time of difficulties, we need to stay unified in solidarity to protect and defend our city.

List of Fever Clinics and Designated Hospitals in Wenzhou
At present, Wenzhou has set up 33 fever clinics and designated 9 hospitals for treatment of the disease (among which, the Wenzhou Sixth People’s Hospital is the designated hospital for Lucheng, Ouhai, Longwan, and Economic Development Zone, and the Cangnan People’s Hospital is designated for Cangnan County and Longgang City; the designated hospitals for the rest counties (cities, districts) are their local people’s hospitals.
