歐陽中石，1928年生於山東省泰安市肥城。著名的學者、教育家、書法家、書法教育家。首都師範大學教授、中國書畫國際大學董事局名譽主席、學術委員會主席、博士生導師。歐陽中石是中國當代藝術大師，歐陽中石既是一位學問家、又是一位教育家。高中畢業後在濟南某小學任教教過各個年級。上個世紀50年代初，年輕的歐陽中石考取了輔仁大學哲學系，一年後進入北京大學哲學系，主修中國邏輯史，拜在邏輯學大師金嶽霖的門下。
1954年，歐陽中石畢業於北京大學，開始在中學從事基層教育工作。他教過中學的各門課程，深得學生敬重。在長期從事中學教學的實踐中，他對語文教學中長期存在的一些問題進行了積極深入的思考，運用他敏銳的目光和明辨的思維，以及對中國語言文字特點獨到而深刻的理解，提出了一套科學的語文教育改革方案，並在中學試點，取得了令人矚目的成果，得到了各界的一致好評。
