進博會的召開再次讓全世界目光聚焦中國。作為中國主動擴大進口和開放市場的重要平臺，進博會彰顯了中國支持經濟全球化、推動貿易自由化、便利化的決心，也為世界經濟發展注入更多活力。
日前，西方四大通訊社之一的路透社就刊發了評論文章，稱中國經濟已然取代美國，成為了世界經濟“火車頭”。
China has replaced the United States as the engine of the global economy, providing by far the largest contribution to growth in recent years and pulling along the world's smaller economies in its train.
中國已經取代美國成為全球經濟的引擎，成為近幾年來經濟增長的最大貢獻者，並拉動了世界上較小經濟體的發展。
The Asian country accounted for 28% of all growth worldwide in the five years from 2013 to 2018, more than twice the share of the United States, according to the International Monetary Fund.
根據國際貨幣基金組織的數據，在2013年至2018年的五年裡，這個亞洲國家佔全球經濟總增長的28%，是美國的兩倍多。
The Fund predicts China will account for a similar share of growth over the next five years between 2019 and 2024 (“World economic outlook”, IMF, October 2019).

文章指出， 到2024年，中國、印度、印度尼西亞、俄羅斯和巴西總共將佔全球經濟增長的一半以上。而且這5個國家經濟增長的強勁與否將直接決定世界經濟是否能實現健康增長。
從上世紀70年代到90年代，美國一直被認為是世界經濟的火車頭，當時流行著這樣的一句話：美國打個噴嚏，世界就會感冒。作者認為，如今這句話可能要換成“中國打個噴嚏，世界就會感冒”了。
The United States is still important, and the Federal Reserve remains at the center of global markets, but the U.S. economy is no longer large enough or growing fast enough to act as the sole locomotive for the world economic train.
美國仍然很重要，美聯儲仍是全球市場的中心，但美國經濟體量已經不夠大了，增長也不夠快，不足以充當世界經濟列車的唯一火車頭。
China on its own, and the other major emerging markets collectively, are now more important drivers of the global economy.

The traditional aphorism should probably be recast as “when China sneezes” or “when emerging markets sneeze”, the world catches a cold.

China’s cyclical slowdowns in 2014/15 and 2018/19 were major contributory factors in the worldwide economic slowdowns in those years and China will remain central to the global cycle over the next five years.

接下來，在提到貿易戰時，作者講出了西方媒體很少承認的一句大實話：美國蓄意破壞中國經濟。
Since early 2018, the United States has pursued a deliberate policy of attempting to hurt China’s economy in response to concerns about the shifting balance of economic power and unfair trade practices.
自2018年初以來，美國一直奉行蓄意損害中國經濟的政策，以回應對經濟實力平衡轉移和不公平貿易的擔憂。
Tariffs and non-tariff barriers, including tougher restrictions on market access, investment, business ownership, security blacklists, sanctions and criminal prosecutions have been employed in a “whole-of-government” effort.
(美)政府使出全力，建立關稅和非關稅壁壘，嚴格限制市場準入、投資、企業所有權，(將中國企業加入)安全黑名單、對其實施制裁，甚至刑事起訴。
The narrow, publicly stated goal has been to force China to change its industrial policies, including subsidies, state-directed lending, intellectual property protection and market access.

The broader strategic aim has been to restrain the country’s growth and shore up the current U.S.-led global balance of power.

There was simply no way to hurt China’s economy without the impact recoiling on the rest of the world, including on the United States, given China’s central role in global growth.

不但失去第一，連第二的位置美國可能也岌岌可危。國際貨幣基金組織的數據顯示，在短短5年內，印度對全球經濟增長的推動作用，將超過美國，成全球第二大經濟增長引擎。
相比美國因擔心失去霸主地位，不惜以殺敵一千自損八百的方式處處為難，中國的表現更加坦然自信。正如火如荼進行中的進博會就是最好的說明。
