在職場中，其實有很多用語是約定俗成的。如果不在特定場景下說出某句話，你可能會覺得有點奇葩。
比如，老闆說“Take five”可不是讓你“拿個5”，那老闆是啥意思？
1. Take five
職場英語高頻句“Take five”知道啥意思嗎？不懂可能要累趴下！
It means to take five means to take one brief rest period，usually it's about five minutes.
Take five其實相當於take a short break，所謂的短短地休息一下，通常是5分鐘。
經常用於開會，開到一半大家都疲了，這時候老闆可能就會說take five。
英語例句：
① Let's take five and get some coffee.
我們休息五分鐘，喝杯咖啡。
② Okay, guys, take five . Be back here in five minutes on time.
好了，夥計們，休息五分鐘。五分鐘後準時回來。
* 說五分鐘就五分鐘，一分鐘不給你多休息。哼。
2. It takes two to tango
吵架的時候或者互相推託責任的時候，會說到一個巴掌拍不響，那在英文中我們也有對應的俗語哦。
這其中用到了tango（探戈）這個舞蹈，It takes two to tango。
想象一下，探戈是一個社交性的舞蹈，沒有兩個人就跳不起來，所以相當於一個巴掌拍不響。
英語例句：
① It takes two to tango and I’m afraid so far our relationship has been one-sided.
一個巴掌拍不響，恐怕到目前為止我們的關係還是單方面的。
* 單相思啊！不禁想起一首歌：Single dog, single dog, single all the way.（自行搭配《鈴兒響叮噹》的曲調）
② She may want to argue, but it takes two to tango and I won't stoop to her level.
她可能想和我吵，但一個巴掌拍不響，我不會屈尊到她的水平的。
* 哈哈，注意stoop to her level，屈尊到某人的水平。表示狗咬我，我難道要去咬它嗎？我還要不要格調啊。
3. Dressed up to the nines
It means someone is wearing smart or glamorous clothes.
也就是說打扮得光彩照人，想象下，9:00一般都是去參加晚宴，Dressed up to the nines，穿著去晚宴的服裝肯定非常地光彩照人。
英語例句：
① The doorbell rang and there was Amanda, all dressed up to the nines.
門鈴響了，是Amanda，打扮得漂漂亮亮的。
② I have to be dressed to the nines at this gala tonight—a lot of important people will be there.
今晚我得盛裝出席這個晚會，許多重要人物都要來。
* gala 表示各種晚會。還記得春節聯歡晚會嗎？就是用Spring Festival Gala或者CCTV Gala喲。
