題目如下：

Directions：

Write an essay of 160-200 words based on the picture below. In your essay, you should：

1) describe the pictures briefly,

2) interpret the meaning, and

3) give your comments.

You should write neatly on the ANSWER SHEET.

關於作文字數要求

題目的字數要求是160-200個單詞。

但張老師始終建議大家寫190-200單詞。

160個單詞的英語文章，確實很難進行充分的論述，無形之中已經降低了分數。

漫畫英語作文，究竟該寫什麼？

題目事實上已經給了我們3個要求：

1.describe the pictures briefly：簡要地描述圖畫

關鍵在於“簡要”二字，大家無需大段地進行描述。

因此，在描述圖畫時，大家應儘量做到如下幾點：

1. 寫1句話即可

3. 只描述圖裡面的數據和事實（facts），不做任何評論

針對上面的題目，我們可以將漫畫描述如下：

The picture shows a student's selection of courses between those challenging but with new knowledge and stressing creativity and those with less workloads and easily passed with high grades. （29個單詞）

2. interpret the meaning：解釋圖畫所傳達的現象

這是要求我們推測漫畫中，描述的是何種社會現象。因此，我們也只需要一句話把漫畫裡面描繪的社會現象表達出來即可

針對上題，我們可以將該句寫作如下：

It is noticeable that college students are facing a dilemma of taking tough or easy courses. (16個單詞）

3. give your comments：對圖畫中傳達的現象進行評論。

這一部分，才是考研英語作文的重頭戲。

題目只要求大家對現象進行comment。那麼何為 comment? 它可以是解釋原因、描述導致的問題、給出解決方法、比較不同的選項、描述優缺點....等等。只要是圍繞現象進行闡述，就都屬於comment的範疇。

因此，這一部分的寫作也是比較靈活的一部分。需要大家結合題目本身的信息，綜合分析究竟怎樣comment才最有利。

就上述題目而言，我們可以得出學生選課面臨兩個選擇：

• 選擇較難的課程，但是可能會得分低
• 選擇輕鬆的課程，作業少，且得分高

既然是要在2個選項中做出選擇，自然要比較2個選擇的優缺點，才能做錯判斷。因此，我們的comment就可以從比較優缺點的角度進行展開。具體可以寫作如下：

選擇較難課程的優點：

On the one hand, there are advantages to signing up harder courses. Firstly, students will gain academically because difficult courses usually mean profound knowledge, considerable expertise and exposure to well-known professors. Secondly, tough courses can help students learn how to cope with failure. Those who have never attempted something difficult may not have the coping skills necessary when they confront real difficulties in the future. （65個單詞）

選擇較容易課程的優點：

On the other hand, scores play significant roles in student evaluation. For example, scholarships from both the government or enterprises are granted based on students' academic performance, and graduate school offers or job offers are more likely to be issued to those who have achieved a higher GPA. As a result, an increasing number of students tend to select courses that can definitely ensure good grades. (66個單詞）

段落結構的2種寫作方法

上述兩個段落，事實上已經給了我們寫作段落的2種方法：

1.當有很多idea來支撐中心句時，可以採用如下結構：

• 中心句
• Firstly，第一個理由
• 舉例支撐第一個理由
• Secondly，第二個理由
• 舉例支撐第二個理由

2.當只有一箇中心句，難以找到理由支撐時，可以採用如下結構：

• 中心句
• 舉例支撐
• 結合例子，進行解釋說明

關於作文的整體結構

一篇英語作文，應該至少具備如下完整的結構：

1. 開頭段（Introduction）
2. 中間段1 (Body paragraph 1)
3. 中間段2 (Body paragraph 2
4. 結尾段 (Conclusion)

對於上述考研英語漫畫作文，我們可以將上述文章結構分解如下：

1. 開頭段：2句話（約40個單詞）

第1句話：描述漫畫；

第2句話：引出漫畫傳達的社會現象

2. 中間段1和中間段2（每段約70個單詞）

結合題目，綜合確定要進行評論的兩個方面，分別各寫一段話。

3. 結尾段：1句話，給出個人的觀點。

參考例文

綜合上面的分析，我們將整篇文章寫作如下：

The picture shows a student's selection of courses between those challenging but with new knowledge and stressing creativity and those with less workloads and easily passed with high grades. It is noticeable that college students are facing a dilemma of taking tough or easy courses.

On the one hand, there are advantages to signing up harder courses. Firstly, students will gain academically because difficult courses usually mean profound knowledge, considerable expertise and exposure to well-known professors. Secondly, tough courses can help students learn how to cope with failure. Those who have never attempted something difficult may not have the coping skills necessary when they confront real difficulties in the future.

詞彙學習

上述文章中並沒有使用高深的詞彙，但是卻都是與寫作話題緊密相關的詞彙（topic-related vocabulary）。而這樣的詞彙，才是作文中真正需要的詞彙。

1. those challenging but with new knowledge and stressing creativity 具有挑戰性，但是能夠學到新知識，且注重創新能力的課程
2. those with less workloads and easily passed with high grades 作業少、容易過、得分高的課程
