老闆的話，你聽懂了多少？
01、Sit down with someone
工作上，這個詞組不僅是說“要你和某人坐在一起”，而在某種情境下是要你要和他一起討論。
I’ll sit down with my team and let you know the result.我會和我的團隊討論一下，告訴您結果。 02、Clear sth with sb.
字面上的意思是跟某人一起清理東西，實際上這句話的意思是“某事獲得某人的批准”。
clear除了有清理的意思，跟with連用時，是指“獲得批准、認可”。
You have 5 days of annual leave. Please clear your request with the manager before submitting it to me for processing.你有五天年假，請獲得經理批准休假申請後，再交給我走流程。
03、let me down
當你的老闆對你說，“let me down”，別以為他是讓你下去。
其實他是對你失望了。“let me down”表達的意思是讓某人失望了，因為你沒有達到或者滿足他們的期許。
let down放在一起，變成letdown，用作名詞。表示令人失望的事。
You've let me down once too often and I shall not trust you. 你已讓我失望多次，我再也不信任你了。
04、Are you able to wear two hats?
老闆問你：Are you able to wear two hats?他的意思是你有能力身兼兩個職位嗎？
這裡的hat不是帽子的意思，而是職位、職務的意思。
I'm wearing two hats tonight─parent and teacher.我今晚身兼兩職——既是家長又是老師。
