《The RunawayBunny》講述了一隻小兔子，突然有一天，對著兔媽媽大聲宣佈，“I'm running away.”“我要離家出走了！”
然而，兔媽媽沒有生氣也沒有驚慌，而是跟著小兔子那突然大開的腦洞，進行了一場“捉迷藏”。小兔子突發奇想的離家出走並不是不開心或者叛逆，只是他想知道，自己的媽媽究竟有多愛他呢？

《The RunawayBunny》
Once there was a little bunny who wanted to run away.
So he said to his mother, “I am running away.”
“If you run away,” said his mother, “I will run after you. For you are my little bunny.”
從前有一隻小兔子，他很想要離家出走。有一天，她對媽媽說：“我要跑走啦！”
“如果你跑走了，”媽媽說，“我就去追你，因為你是我的小寶貝呀！”
“If you run after me,”said the little bunny,
“I will become a fish in a trout stream and I will swim away from you.”
“If you become a fish in a trout stream,” said his mother,
“I will become a fisherman and I will fish for you.”
“如果你來追我，”小兔說，“我就要變成溪裡的小鱒魚，遊得遠遠的。”
“如果你變成溪裡的小鱒魚，”媽媽說，“我就變成捕魚的人去抓你。”
“If you become a fisherman,”said the little bunny,
“I will become a rock on the mountain, high above you.”
“If you become a rock on the mountain high above me,”said his mother,
“I will be a mountain climber, and I will climb to where you are.”
“如果你變成捕魚的人，”小兔說，“我就要變成高山上的大石頭，讓你抓不到我。”
“如果你變成高山上的大石頭，”媽媽說，“我就變成爬山的人，爬到高山上去找你。”
“If you become a mountain climber,” said the little bunny,
“I will become a crocus in a hidden garden.”
“If you become a crocus in a hidden garden,” said his mother,
“I will be a gardener. And I will find you.”
“如果你變成爬山的人，”小兔說，“我就要變成小花，躲在花園裡。”
“如果你變成小花，”媽媽說，“我就變成園丁，我還是會找到你。”
“If you are a gardener and find me,” said the little bunny,
“I will become a bird and fly away from you.”
“If you become a bird and fly away from me,” said his mother,
“I will be a tree that you come home to.”
“如果你變成園丁，找到我了，”小兔說，“我就要變成小鳥，飛得遠遠的。”
“如果你變成小鳥，飛得遠遠的，”媽媽說，“我就變成樹，好讓你飛回家。”
“If you become a tree,” said the little bunny,
“I will become a little sailboat, and I will sail away from you.”
“If you become a sailboat and sail away from me,” said his mother,
“I will become the wind and blow you where I want you to go.”
“如果你變成樹，”小兔說，“我就要變成小帆船，飄得遠遠的。”
“如果你變成小帆船，”媽媽說，“我就變成風，把你吹到我要你去的地方。”
“If you become the wind and blow me,” said the little bunny,
“I will join a circus and fly away on a flying trapeze.”
“If you go flying on a flying trapeze,” said his mother,
“I will be a tightrope walker, and I will walk across the air to you.”
“如果你變成風，把我吹走，”小兔說，“我就要變成馬戲團裡的空中飛人，
飛得高高的。”
“如果你變成空中飛人，”媽媽說，“我就變成走鋼索的人，走到半空中好遇到你。”
“If you become a tightrope walker and walk across the air,” said the bunny,
“I will become a little boy and run into a house.”
“If you become a little boy and run into a house,” said the mother bunny,
“I will become your mother and catch you in my arms and hug you.”
“如果你變成走鋼索的人走在半空中，”小兔說，“我就要變成小男孩跑回家。”
“如果你變成小男孩跑回家，”媽媽說，“我正好就是你的媽媽，我會張開手臂好好地抱住你。”
“Shucks,” said the bunny, “I might just as well stay where I am and be your little bunny.”
And so he did.
“Have a carrot,” said the mother bunny.
“天哪！”小兔說，“我不如就待在這裡，當你的小寶貝吧。”
他就這麼辦了。“來根紅蘿蔔吧！”媽媽說。
很多時候，我們追求還沒有得到的事物，而忘記了手中握著的財富。媽媽的愛看不到摸不著，但卻是我們實實在在擁有的東西。我們想出去看看那個豐富多彩的世界，隨身攜帶的是媽媽最深沉最溫暖的愛。
在頗為流行韓劇《請回答 1988》中，
有這樣一段描述“媽媽”的旁白：
聽說神無法無處不在，
所以創造了媽媽。
即使到了媽媽的年齡，
媽媽的媽媽仍然是媽媽的守護神。
媽媽這個詞，
只是叫一叫，
也覺得喉間哽咽。
媽媽，最有力量的名字。
