芝加哥大學的新政策中，即將取消校園面試，而校友和校內訪談將被兩分鐘的視頻介紹取代，申請者也可以選擇不提交這份視頻，但這無疑更能向招生官展示學生的口語水平和自身綜合素質，讓申請者更具競爭力。

The word floccinaucinihilipilification is the act or habit of describing or regarding something as unimportant or of having no value. It originated in the mid-18th century from the Latin words "floccus," "naucum," "nihilum," and "pilus"—all words meaning “of little use.” Coin your own word using parts from any language you choose, tell us its meaning, and describe the plausible (if only to you) scenarios in which it would be most appropriately used.（所有詞語意思都是“無用的”。使用任何語言中的任何部分發明你的專屬單詞，請告訴我們這個單詞的含義，並描述合理使用它的情況（如果僅適用於你）。）

Lost your keys? Alohomora. Noisy roommate? Quietus. Feel the need to shatter windows for some reason? Finestra. Create your own spell, charm, jinx, or other means for magical mayhem. How is it enacted? Is there an incantation? Does it involve a potion or other magical object? If so, what's in it or what is it? 【UC系大學】
UC系大學2019年的申請文書題目不變，申請人從所給的8個題目中任選4個來寫，每篇essay不超過350個詞。UC建議每個人選擇與自己經歷最相關的問題來寫，以便更好地凸顯自己的長處。UC官方強調，文書最重要的是要表達你自己是誰，你最看重的是什麼，你最想分享的是什麼。
【卡耐基梅隆大學】
不再接受補充材料，校友面試取消。
為了提升學校的多樣性和包容性教學環境，學校決定降低甚至取消招生過程中的部分要求，其中對中國留學生影響較大的政策包括不再接受補充材料和校友面試取消，更多細則如下：
1、附加文書變成多篇短文書 ，旨在充分了解學生的背景、興趣、才能和個性特點。
2、取消校友面試，同時加強校友對於已錄取學生的引導和影響。
3、校內面試不再起到申請評估作用，而是幫助學生根據自己的興趣尋找匹配的項目。
4、Waitlist不再需要補充推薦信、補充個人項目進展、到學校拜訪或致電招生辦，只需在合適的時間給招生辦寫一段簡短的以表現自身特質的小文書。
5、不再鼓勵提交補充材料，如：簡歷、研究報告、學術論文、多媒體展示、作品集等。
