35 杭州遍禮名勝
杭州西湖風景，世界知名，過去七佛於此演化，歷代祖師於此宏宗，故有佛地之稱。佛弟子必往參方，朝禮諸名勝。晉寶掌和尚，乃三天竺之開山祖。唐鳥窠，宋永明，明蓮池，均有古蹟。
宣化偈曰：
杭州佛化大行開，
西湖美景奪天才。
古今知識參不盡，
移風易俗稱善哉。
Paying homage at the holy sites in Hangchou
The famous scenery at Hsi Hu (west lake) in Hangchou is known throughout the world. It was here that the Seven Buddhas of Antiquity taught and lectured and the generational patriarchs propagated their schools, hence it is termed “the place of the Buddhas.” Buddhist disciples certainly make pilgrimages to the sacred places here to pay their respects. The Venerable Master Pao Chang (Jeweled Palm) of the Chin Dynasty who was the founding patriarch of San T’ien Chu Mountain, Master Niao K’o of the T’ang Dynasty, Master Yung Ming (Eternal Brightness) of the Sung Dynasty, and Master Lien Ch’ih (Lotus Pool) of the Ming Dynasty all visited here in the past.
The verse says:
At Hangchou the Buddhas teach, explaining their great practices.
The beautiful West Lake scenery vies with that of the heavens.
Ancient and modern Wise Advisors are so many that one can visit them without end.
Improving customs and changing habits is lauded “good indeed!”
36 朝禮西天目山
西天目為浙省名山，佛法最興宗匠迭出，如元朝高峰原妙禪師為開山，中峰國師繼之。清玉琳國師發揚光大，丕振宗風。此處有倒掛蓮花，乃高峰妙禪師對治睡魔。跌而被護之勝境。
宣化偈曰：
昔日高峰志沖天，
誓死不被睡魔纏。
抖擻精神習大定，
韋陀護法超萬千。
Making obeisance at Hsi T’ien mountain
Hsi T’ien Mu is a famous mountain in Chekiang Province. The Buddhadharma flourished and many great masters came from here, such as the Yuan Dynasty Dharma Master Yuan Miao (Wonderful source) of Kao Feng (Lofty Peak) who first settled on the mountain, and National Master Chung Feng (Middle Peak) who succeeded him. It was here that National Master Yu Lin (Jade Grove) of the Ch’ing Dynasty extensively propagated and spread the reputation of his school. It is also the site of the renowened cliff “Inverted Lotus”. Where Dhyana Master Miao of Kao Feng overcame a sleep demon-where he fell and was saved.
The verse says:
Master Kao Feng one day in the past wished to soar to the heavens,
And vowed to his death that he would not be tied by the demon of sleep.
So rousing his vital energies, he practiced a grand samdhi,
And the Dharma Protector Wei T’ou’s protection of him transcends 10,000,000 kalpas.
