《至臻国币》珍藏套装48枚硬币（收于2019年）硬币在我国已有几千年历史，最早的金属铸币是商代的宝德铜贝，距今已3000多年。
我国人民币流通硬币第一套从1955年开始铸造，于1957年12月1日正式发行；第二套硬币于1980年4月15日发行；第三套新版硬币从1991年开始铸造，于1992年6月1日起在全国发行；第四套硬币从1999年开始铸造，于2000年10月16日先发行99年新版壹元、壹角币二种，2002年11月18日发行新版伍角币，全套计三种；自2005年8月31日起，发行05版壹角币，材质由铝合金改为不锈钢。
