The Cage Bird and the Bat 籠中鳥與蝙蝠
A bird was confined in a cage (籠子) outside a window. She often sang at night (夜晚)when other birds were asleep.
一隻鳥兒被囚在窗外的籠子裡。她經常在其它鳥兒睡著時的夜裡歌唱。
One night a bat came. He asked the bird why she was silent (安靜的) by day and sang only at night.
一天晚上，蝙蝠來了，他問鳥兒為什麼她在白天安靜無聲，而只在夜裡歌唱。
The bird answered, “Last year when I was singing in the daytime (白天), a bird catcher heard my voice and caught me in his net (網). Since then I have never sung by day.”
鳥兒回答說：“去年我在白天唱歌時，捕鳥人聽到了我的歌聲，就用他的網抓住了我。此後，我再也不在白天唱歌了。”
The bat replied, "But it is useless to do this now that you have become a prisoner." Then he flew away.
蝙蝠回答說：“但是你現在這樣做也沒用了呀，你已經成為囚鳥了呀！”然後他就飛走了。
