Mt. Red Silk-in Tune of Water Melody

By ZHANG Junchang

Tr. ZHAO Yanchun

To the Purple Cloud Creek I'm near;

Mt. Red Silk does o'er there appear.

She often allures me, haunting my dream;

Today I see her face in gleam.

The warblers chirp, chirp in a voice clear;

The bamboo surges to the sea there,

The white clouds hanging above peer.

The steepness of cliff tests your vim;

Outdoors, to love nature you seem.

The Lion Peak I climb, the Pei Rill I tour, go back home I veer.

To my sleeve blows a breeze;

I stroll in dawning misty maple trees.

I'd make an inquiry about zen.

The temple court is deep, I'm afraid;

To turn the dharma wheel I fear.

When Luna to the snowflakes shines,

My candle lights up the spring clear.
