為了紀念這件翻天覆地的大事，國民政府決定鑄銀元紀念。1912年的民元國會。選舉孫中山為第一領導人。鑄造的首批銀元以孫中山頭像為背景圖案。首鑄幣背面六角星，鏤空麥穗圍繞。這批銀元為首鑄的一批，發行有限，僅有40000枚，當年即被換購收藏一空。
