Some small talks about learning to speak English
1.當我們日常聊天時,總會有一些話題,我們不想談論,想要改變或避免某個話題,可以使用以下語句:
If you don't mind, I'd rather not talk about that.
It's a long story. I'll tell you about it some day.
2.同國外同學/同事吃飯時,如果你去他們所在的國家,他們可能會請你吃飯,就會說:
Dinner's on me.
Dinner's my treat.
Let me take care of the check.
所以,請客這回事,不僅是在國內有,在國外,如果是關係很好的同事或朋友,你去他們所在的地方,作為東道主,一般他們也會請客的。日常吃飯,可能大家就是AA制了。
AA制:
Go dutch.
3.出門在外,或日常學習工作中,難免需要別人幫忙,學會這幾句求助的語句,很有幫助:
Would you mind if I used your pen to take a note?
Do you mind if I bring a friend together with us?
Could you do me a favor?
I have a big favor to ask.
4.如果想主動提供幫助給別人,可以說:
Let me give you a hand with that.
Can I help you?
Do you need some help with sth. blabla ?
5.婉拒別人的幫助是,可以說:
That's very kind, but I'm OK, thank you.
No thanks. I can manage.
6.向朋友們分享一些新消息時,可以說:
Have you heard?
You'll never guess what happened?
Guess what?
Have you heard the latest?
如果,是一般的新聞,表達好奇或吃驚時,可以回答:
Really?
Is that right?
I don't believe it.
You're joking, right?
No kidding.
如果,是好消息,可以回答:
Wow!
That's great!
I'm so glad.
That's wonderful!
I'm so happy for you!
如果是壞消息,則可以使用以下語句表達:
Oh my/ Oh dear!
That's too bad
That's a shame
That's awful/terrible.
