“你在哪裡？”是日常生活中非常高頻的一句口語。如果你在外企上班，當老闆同事問你在哪裡時，那麼你回答的時候可要注意了。
“我在辦公室”可別說I'm in office，這是錯的！
大家都知道，office可以表示“辦公室”，但除此之外，它還有很多其他含義。
一、office可以表示“處、所、部、廳、局”等：
ticket offices （售票處）
the doctor's office（診所）
the tax office （稅務部）
the Office of Science and Technology （科學技術局）
二、office可以表示“要職、公職、官職”等：
The office of Lord Mayor （市長的職位）
run for office （競選公職）
take office （就職；執政）
hold office （任職；執政）
a term of office （任期）
in office ≠ 在辦公室
in office 的真正含義是：任職、執政。
例：
The events to mark the President's ten years in office went ahead as planned.
總統任職10週年的慶祝活動已按計劃進行。
所以，“我在辦公室”說成“I'm in office”，是錯的，趕緊改過來！
“在辦公室”的正確表達是什麼？
記得要加定冠詞the，in the office （在辦公室）。
例：
I'm in the office and holding a meeting.
我在辦公室開會。
英語中，有定冠詞the和沒有定冠詞the，意思往往相差甚遠。這類表達還有很多，比如下面這兩個例子就很常見：

in school 泛指“上學、求學”。
例：
I studied English in school.
我在學校學的是英語專業.
in the school 是一個具體概念，表示“在學校裡”。
例：
I wonder if he is in the school.
我想知道他是否在學校.

in hospital 表示“生病住院”。
例：
She spent two weeks in hospital because of arm burns.
她因為手臂燒傷住院兩週。
in the hospital 表示“在醫院”（可以指工作或探視病人等）。
例：
He works in the hospital near to the beach.
