Doctor:Are you OK, Ron? You don’t look well.
Ron:Hi, doctor, I have a sore throat. It’s hard for me to talk too much now.
Doctor:I see. Open your mouth, please.
Ron:Ah...
Doctor:Well, there’s something wrong with your tonsil(扁桃體) but it’s not very serious. Take this medicine three times a day. It’s good for you to drink hot water time to time.
Ron:OK.
Doctor:Relax, Ron. Don’t eat spicy food these days and you’ll be better soon.
Ron:Thanks, doctor, it’s nice of you to say so.
Molly:Kathy, I often feel sleepy recently.
Teacher:Molly, it’s good for you to sleep early at night. Don’t worry, you’ll be all right.
Molly:Thank you, it’s very kind for you to say that.
Teacher:Molly,
Molly:
It's+adj.+for/of sb.to do sth.
(It's+adj.+for/of sb.to do sth.
在It's + adj. + for sb.to do sth. 常用於表示事物(to do sth.)的特點,如useful,hard,difficult,interesting,important。
例如:
It’s very hard for him to study two languages.
在這句話中hard是用來修飾to study two languages這件事情,所以用介詞for。
而在It's + adj. + of sb. to do sth. 的某種性格和品德,或表示主觀感情或態度,如good,kind,nice,clever,foolish,right。
Molly:
It’s very kind of you to say that.
Teacher:Yes,Molly,
Molly:OK.
It’s easy for me to do the homework.
It’s clever of you to work out the maths problem.
Teacher:Excellent!Cease to struggle and you cease to live.
