經濟層面
①機器生產（mechanization）提升了生產效率，意味著降低了生產的時間成本，工廠從而能夠在有限的時間裡生產出更大批量的產品，從而帶來更大的收益。（利）但是，生產機械化會給傳統手工業（traditional handicraft industry）帶來一定的壞處。比如，手工業生產者（handicraftsman/artisan）會失業，從而導致社會失業率上升。（弊）
②科技和互聯網的發展帶動了電子商務的發展。好處在於，年輕人的創業門檻降低（reduce the barriers to entry），尤其是剛踏出校門的年輕人，不需要大額的啟動資金（startup fund）投入就能經營自己的門店；而且，互聯網帶動了快遞行業的迅猛發展，如此不單隻提供了很多就業崗位，社會的經濟結構（economic pattern）也更加多元完善。（利）
但在另一方面，網購會衝擊傳統的實體經濟，沒有跟上互聯網潮流的人會面臨生存問題；再者，網絡消費者的利益保障不夠完善，容易買到假貨、退換貨流程麻煩等等。（弊）
社會層面
①科技產品的發展可能對社會成員的身體健康造成一定的威脅，尤其是更容易接觸（available）到科技產品的城裡人。比如，手機用戶長時間低頭盯著屏幕，對眼睛和肩頸（neck and shoulder）造成無可挽救的傷害；同理，上班族久坐對著電腦對腰椎（spine）也不好。
②科技產品，如手機，對人們之間的關係影響很大。好的方面在於，智能手機、互聯網上面的應用（applications）允許全球生物不受時空限制（freely）進行溝通聯繫，表面上這應該是好的事情。但是！由於科技產品的娛樂性（amusing）應用非常多樣，且推陳出新的效率非常快，手機用戶同意過度沉迷在網絡/屏幕上，尤其是青少年，這意味著他們會減少和親朋之間的面對面交流，久而久之面對面的人際交往能力變弱。
